Psilocybin for the Treatment of Kinesiophobia - A Clinical and Neuroimaging Study
This study will examine the effectiveness and safety of psilocybin as an oral treatment, at sub-hallucinogenic doses, on patients with a fear of movement (kinesiophobia). Gaga, an innovative and constantly evolving movement language developed by the acclaimed choreographer and artistic director, Ohad Naharin, will be utilized alongside psychophysical measures and advanced functional brain imaging to study the effects of psilocybin on motor learning among patients suffering from kinesiophobia due to chronic pain.
Ketamine and Prolonged Exposure - A Potential Rapid Treatment for PTSD
This study will assess the effects of Ketamine and mass exposure therapy on original trauma memories and their reconsolidation among PTSD patients. The results of this project aim to produce a rapid and sustained reduction in PTSD symptomatology that is superior to currently available interventions. Utilizing state-of-the-art neuroimaging we will gain further insight into the neurobiology of PTSD and the neural mechanisms dictating treatment response. This project is a NIMH-funded collaboration with Prof. Harpaz-Rotem from Yale University.
