Ph.D. in Neuroscience – The Regular Track
Honors students who completed a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 85, a master's degree with a GPA of at least 90, and a master's degree thesis grade of at least 90.
The track is suitable for students who have completed degrees in neuroscience, life sciences, exact sciences, engineering, and psychology. Students who have completed study programs in neuroscience at Tel Aviv University will be able to begin their studies after their acceptance to the program, without supplementary studies. Honors students from other fields will be required to take supplementary courses as specified below.
Acceptance to the program will be subsequent to an interview by the Interdisciplinary Committee which will choose the most suitable candidates. During the interview, the candidates will be required to present their master's projects/theses, and to show knowledge and thinking ability in the field of the paper presented. In addition, the candidates will be required to show interest and understanding in other fields in neuroscience.
Admissions procedure
Students interested in applying to the program will submit an email to sagolgr@tauex.tau.ac.il with the following documents:
- Form for submitting the application including a declaration of intentions with a passport photo. Please be sure to note email addresses of at least two references on the form.
- A current curriculum vitae.
- Original transcripts of grades from the bachelor's and master's degrees together with diplomas for the bachelor's and master's degrees, or authorization of eligibility, or a certified copy from the institution where the applicant studied.
- PowerPoint presentation (as specified on the application form)
- Confirmation of the academic advisor. Please refer to the list of Sagol School of Neuroscience researchers on our website.
Documents submitted late will not be accepted.
Appointments for interviews will be made on the basis of the documents submitted by the deadline.
After evaluation and initial screening, some of the candidates will be invited to an interview with the Ph.D. Program Admissions Committee.
The candidate will present the committee with the PowerPoint presentation that s/he sent, and the Committee will examine the knowledge that the candidate has acquired during her/his capabilities for coping with questions requiring creative thinking, analytical ability, understanding of basic principles of research methods and issues of interest as defined by her/him in the PowerPoint presentation and in the research statement.
The duration of the interview is 15 minutes.
