Ph.D. in Neuroscience – The Direct Track

Admissions criteria and registration for the direct track Ph.D.

Eligible to apply

 

Honors students who completed a bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least90  may apply to the program. Graduates of undergraduate study programs at the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University will be admitted to the program without supplementary studies. Honors students from other fields will be required to take supplementary courses individually tailored to each student. 

 

Acceptance to the program will be subsequent to an interview by the Unit Interdisciplinary Committee which will consider the direct track doctoral candidates and master's degree candidates, and will accept the most suitable candidates.

 

Candidates who have yet to complete their bachelor's degree will be accepted on a conditional basis and will be required to complete all of their obligations and to be eligible for their bachelor's degree by December 15, 2022.

 

Admissions procedure

All candidates seeking to register for the direct-track doctorate must register for the master's degree, both by online registration and on the form for submitting candidacy. Students interested in submitting candidacy to the program will register online for the master's degree on the University's registration website, and will attach the required documents. Simultaneously, the following documents should be submitted to the School Secretariat at kerenr@tauex.tau.ac.il

  1. Form for submitting the application including declaration of intent and a passport photo. In addition to the direct track for the doctorate, the candidate should mark the master's degree track.
  2. Curriculum vitae in a separate file.
  3. Current transcripts of grades together + original diploma for the bachelor's degree, or original authorization of eligibility, or a certified copy from the institution where the applicant studied. 
  4. PowerPoint presentation (as specified on the application form).

 

Following evaluation and preliminary screening, some of the candidates will be invited to an interview with the Admissions Committee.

 

The Committee will examine the knowledge that the candidate has acquired during her/his capabilities for coping with questions requiring creative thinking, analytical ability, understanding of basic principles of research methods and issues of interest as defined by her/him. The duration of the interview is 10 minutes.

 

Registration will be closed on April 15, 2024.

 

The deadline for submitting all of the documents to the email address, kerenr@tauex.tau.ac.il is April 15, 2024 at 2:00 P.M.

 

The invitation to the interview will be sent by email only. The interviews will be held from May 2, 2022 – June 1, 2022.

 

Answers will be sent to the candidates by the end of June 2024.

Interview appointments will be made on the basis of documents submitted on time. Documents will not be accepted after the deadline for submission.

 

Admissions interviews

Invitations to admissions interviews will be sent by email only.

 

The interviews will be held from May 2, 2022 – May 31, 2022. Admissions interviews will not be held on other dates.

 

Answers will be sent to the candidates by the end of June 2024.
