Prof. Michael Kahana, The University of Pennsylvania
Michael Kahana is co-founder and CEO of Nia Therapeutics and the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Term Professor of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania (on leave). He has authored more than 235 peer-reviewed journal articles on human memory and its neural basis. He is co-editor of the two-volume Oxford Handbook of Memory and author of "Foundations of Human Memory," also published by Oxford University Press. Kahana is the recipient of the Troland Award from the National Academy of Sciences, the Howard Crosby Warren Medal from the Society of Experimental Psychologists, and the Grossman Award from the Society of Neurological Surgeons, among other honors. On January 1, 2024, Kahana led the first US faculty mission to Israel following Oct 7, 2023. He subsequently created the US-Israel Academic Bridge Fellowship, now recruiting fellows for its third cohort.
