Research work

The MR Research Group at the Advanced Technology Center of Seba Medical Center focuses on pre-clinical and clinical research with emphasis on brain, brain tumors, drug delivery and MRI. The hospital setup, enabling pre-clinical/clinical research, close access to physicians and patients, and close collaboration with the industry, forms an optimal environment for translational medical research which is the nature of most of our research projects. One of the MRI methodologies, developed by the group for differentiating active tumor from treatment-induced effects in patients with brain tumors, has been licensed to an international company and is being used for clinical decision making in various hospitals around the world. Research performed in an attempt to extend this methodology to breast cancer and lung cancer is ongoing.
